Trauma Awareness For First Responders
Addressing identified skills gaps in critical incident stress and trauma intervention

Description of the project
Traffir is a 24-month Erasmus+ project that aims to develop a comprehensive systems approach to improving key competencies in dealing with first responder situations to mitigate the impact of repeated or single exposure to a critical stress incident.
Objectives
Two assistants from each partner will participate in 6 transnational meetings for the purpose of planning, implementing, testing, delivering, evaluating and reviewing a suitable TRAFFIR toolkit; each partner will organise one learning/transnational meeting and also send 4 staff to a short term staff training event to test the toolkit. They will then connect with others successively on their return to their own organisation.
Project outputs
The TRAFFIR Training of Trainers Programme tool that will contribute to the development of a European Area of Skills and Qualifications through the preparation, implementation, evaluation and revision of 6 learning modules that the consortium considers most appropriate to address the needs of psychological first aid and trauma intervention identified in 6 different European comparisons.
