4 Elements in Arts

Quatre Elements a les arts

2020 – 1 – LU – KA204 – 0632239

The FOUR ELEMENTS IN ART project will raise awareness and appreciation of the potential of creative thinking, art, and creativity to combat the alienation of people with special needs participating in lifelong learning and equip adult educators with the tools and techniques they need to implement new pedagogical practises and approaches with their learners.

The partnership is committed to developing a project that trains educators working with adult learners to equip their learners with the skills and competencies needed in today’s EU job market, particularly language and digital skills. This will be achieved by making art more accessible to all EU citizens and enabling educators to interpret it and use it as a source for improving their learners’ linguistic, digital and intercultural skills and creative thinking.

      • Familiarise adult learners with national and European cultural heritage and have them search for common European cultural roots;
      • Have adult learners understand that Europe is culture;
      • Teach learners the value of intercultural learning and culture for people to live together in Europe;
      • Contribute to the development of visual literacy in adult education and to the education of learners with special needs and abilities;
      • To familiarise learners with nature and the visual language of the four elements;
      • Familiarise learners with myths, legends, and stories associated with the four elements and how they are conveyed in the visual arts;
      • To help learners acquire the habits of artists who are creative and curious;
      • Teach learners creativity and develop the ability to ask questions and make connections;
      • Apply ITC skills and teach critical values.

      • Development of (a) an interactive tool with a collection of pieces of art related to the four elements (earth, water, air and fire) in different EU countries and (b) their conceptual background with a social inclusion perspective
      • Elaboration of a Digital Book with EU pieces of art related to the four elements with (a) guidelines for teaches and (b) lesson plans for using them in foreign language teaching contexts
